Full Stack Developer

We are looking for a diverse and dynamic Full Stack Developer who thrives on learning new technologies on demand. This position plays a critical technical role in the ongoing success and growth of the company. This role will build out a revolutionary financial services processing engine embracing cloud based, API-driven and modern standards. It will use Microsoft based technologies (Azure, C#, SQL Server) and employ an Agile practice with consistent review from the technical and business stakeholders.

This person is entrepreneurial, self-directed and passionate about providing exceptional experiences for customers, advisors, investors, clients, and employees.  Because this is a growing entrepreneurial organization, this position will need to work across many disciplines, interacting effectively throughout the organization and fully leveraging the resources available.  The position will provide a challenge, satisfaction and the opportunity for continued career growth.

While all positions have a full-stack element, we have three areas of focus in our development.

Extensive experience, 5+ years in at least one area is required.


API development – C#

  • Design, development, and deployment of mission-critical APIs hosted on IIS
  • A “security first” focus, with API services designed from the ground up to protect client data
  • RESTful API development – ideally you will have worked on an API that is consumed by other developers outside your organization


Database technologies – SQL Server

  • Table and view design
  • Stored procedures
  • Bulk file loading and processing
  • Data validation
  • Exception handling and reporting
  • Batch processing / automated processing
  • SSIS / SSRS
  • Database optimization
  • CLR stored procedures


Web Application Development – Multiple Technologies

  • Development of web solutions using a combination of server and client-side technologies
  • A “security first” focus, with applications designed from the ground up to protect client data
  • Server-side development using C#
  • Client-side development including JavaScript and Query, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript libraries


Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven history of successful independent delivery
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing complex applications
  • 5+ years of development experience with C#, Transact-SQL, or JavaScript
  • 5+ years of experience integrating front and back-end technologies to create modern and secure web applications

Distribution Onboarding Consultant

We are looking for a diverse and dynamic Distribution Onboarding Consultant who thrives on learning new technologies on demand. This role will assist multiple distribution firms with integrating and deploying new functionality on a widely used platform.  It will also work directly with clients at all levels of the organization including senior leaders, business teams and IT teams as well as internal resources and platform resources to ensure accurate communication and smooth deployment.

This person is entrepreneurial, self-directed and passionate about providing exceptional experiences for customers, advisors, investors, clients, and employees.  Because this is a growing entrepreneurial organization, this position will need to work across many disciplines, interacting effectively throughout the organization and fully leveraging the resources available.  This role is highly collaborative in nature, so the candidate must be comfortable working in large teams with tight deadlines.  This is a fast-paced and exciting new position that will be critical to the success of multiple organizations.  The position will provide a challenge, satisfaction and the opportunity for continued career growth.

Business Analyst

We are looking for a diverse and dynamic Business Analyst (BA). This position plays a critical technical role in the ongoing success and growth of the company. Business Analyst manages and directs the company’s application system and process.. This position reports directly to Sr. Director, Business Architecture. The Business Analyst will work closely with the VP of Technology and Senior Developers. The BA performs analysis, diagnostics, development, testing, and documentation of FIDx software. Isolates and corrects application errors promptly. Ensures that the FIDx system provides the services the business and carriers need.

  • Essential Functions
  • Independently lead multiple work streams with a defined set of business deliverables. Be the product owner.
  • Create required SDLC documents and obtain approval from users/sponsors.
  • Define process flows, interactions use cases and stories for project team.
  • Manages external partners and clients effectively to keep projects on track and on time.
  • Establish, manage, and report on all aspects of product backlog.
  • Work with development team through Agile process to deliver on product backlog.
  • Develop requirements, specifications, testing documents for full life cycle delivery.
  • Ability to facilitate sessions with internal and external partners to drive solution development.
  • Troubleshoots application errors or applications not operating. In conjunction with users, isolates problems from symptoms, determines solution or alternatives, develops and implements a resolution. If problem is user error, works with software support personnel to improve user instructions or train for better understanding.
  • Analyzes and diagnoses the FIDx system and any supporting software to determine current and future needs. Confers with programming staff and any affected users to determine corrections and/or development of software. Makes sure that any changes to critical areas are accurate and functioning properly.
  • Ensures that all development and/or corrective software has been fully tested and documented. All testing and documentation are conducted following current standards and procedures.
  • Assists in installation of new releases of FIDx software by reapplying in-house modifications to current release. Performs initial testing before releasing version to software support personnel/users in all environments. Corrects any discovered defects.
  • Ensures the integrity of the FIDx system at all times including data integrity when developing, maintaining or enhancing applications.
  • Keeps technically current on each upgrade to Oracle, SQL forms, PL/SQL and FIDx applications. Reads technical manuals and journals. Subscribes to Internet list servers.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, customer service and accountability.

Education, Skill and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • 6 plus years of experience in financial services organizations functioning as a business analysts or solutions architect.
  • 5 plus years of experience working in an Agile methodology delivery environment.
  • 2 years of experience working with major annuity illustration and account order entry platforms (EBIX, Insurance Technologies, iPipeline).
  • Strong working knowledge of investment management key components such as proposals, account opening, account management, trading, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of insurance and annuity products a significant plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with an array of diverse customers and employees.
  • Start-up experience preferred.
  • Must be highly collaborative, respectful and effective working across a wide array of vendors, employees, leadership team, board members, carriers, etc.
  • Capability to interact with, support and participate as member of our management team.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office and professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. On occasion the job will require going out in the field, visiting vendors.

Physical Demands

This is mostly sedentary outside of travel in an office space. This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, exempt position. Designated days and schedule will be primarily Monday-Friday though will also be based on the needs of the operation and business, requiring weekends, nights and early mornings; especially given the state and early stages of the company.

Travel

Travel is required minimally, based on the needs of the operation and business.
